Secretaries outline strategies to win over a delegation of 700 foreigners who will come to Brasília in November. PPPs and privatization of the Metro and CEB will be presented as investment opportunities.A top-level team from the Federal District Government (GDF) met this Monday morning (14) to organize the 1st Brics-PED Forum, which will take place in Brasília on November 12. The event aims to discuss the possibilities for economic development among member countries Brazil, India, South Africa, China and Russia, and will focus on sustainable transport and trade.According to the organizers, the event will bring excitement to the city with the arrival of more than 700 people, including businesspeople, government representatives and investors. “Brasília has been a mirror for the entire country since it was created, and this will be another chance for us to continue with this vocation as a model for the country,” said the head of the DF Civil House, Valdetário Monteiro, highlighting that now is the time to seek partners to finance projects such as the privatization of CEB and the Metro. The Secretary of Special Projects, Everardo Gueiros, also highlighted that the forum could be “a great opportunity for the emergence of new Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs)”. According to him, the department will study the profile of investors who come to the Federal District. “We will identify the areas of interest so that we can present projects that are convergent”.In charge of the Economic Development department, Secretary Rui Coutinho also reinforced the need to involve local businesspeople both in the debates of the 1st BRICS-PED Forum and in relations with foreign investors. “We also need to identify who has already done business with businesspeople from BRICS member countries, even to exchange experiences and build more consolidated strategies”, he stressed. For the Secretary of Science and Technology, Gilvan Máximo, the presence of Chinese businesspeople could be a great help at this time. This is because his idea is to bring an electric car industry to the Federal District. “We wanted to go to China to present the shared electric car project and now they will be here. Who knows, maybe we will find an investor?”The Ideas and proposals to win over BRICS businesspeople and investors will be the subject of at least four more meetings of the group of secretaries, which also includes the participation of the ministries of Tourism, Institutional Relations, International Relations and the presidency of the Banco de Brasília (BRB).https://www.sepe.df.gov.br/df-busca-investidores-para-parcerias-publico-privadas-no-1o-forum-brics-ped/
